About IBC
Mission and Objectives
The
overarching
mission of the International BioComputing Corporation is to advance
public health and improve biosecurity. Our focus is on developing and deploying
intelligent public health information systems that help prevent,
detect, and
manage infectious disease outbreaks.
More specifically, IBC's objectives include the
following:
To
provide an integrated set of
easy-to-use, highly
effective, and state-of-the-art data sharing, analysis, reporting, and
visualization tools to public health practitioners, researchers, and
decision makers - To improve the general data collection and analysis environment for all public health departments
- To promote real-time situation awareness concerning the health status of human, animal, and plant populations
Positioning
IBC
is
uniquely positioned to address many pressing information
management and data analysis challenges facing the public health and
biosecurity communities because of (a) our extensive research
experience in this area and (b) the excellent technical infrastructure,
user base, and support network developed through our relationship with
the University of Arizona Artifical Intelligence Lab's ongoing
BioPortal
Research Prototype project.
