01/05/2007 FMD-BioPortal Launched
In a significant milestone in the ongoing development of the BioPortal system, the University of California at Davis has launched its FMD-BioPorta™l site. This implementation of the BioPortal™ is aimed at tracking the global incidence of Foot and Mouth Disease. FMD can severely impact the economic viability of animal husbandry in the countries it affects. The goal of the FMD-BioPortal™ project is to reduce the threat represented by the disease.

The National Science Foundation has granted the International Biocomputing Corporation its prestigious Small Business Innovation Research award. This award is intended to support innovative companies like the IBC in their efforts to develop new technologies.
